Seeing it as our mission to freely share the Good News with people from all walks of life the Union-Congregation Church is very proud to be able to offer two very distinct worship styles and experiences. It's hoped, there is something for everyone here.
Our Contemporary Service extensively incorporates the use of media--popular music and excerpts from movies--with the understanding that the surrounding culture, its familiar icons, and symbols, carry with them a deep spiritual significance that may or may not be immediately apparent. Our use of media highlights the theological messages that pervade the wider secular culture. Placing them within a worship context brings them to life in meaningful ways, thereby facilitating a fresh, new approach to worship. This service runs for approximately half an hour. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.
Our Traditional Service, theologically progressive and inclusive, is liturgically set along with the time-honored and proven Reformed Order of Service that is familiar to the many raised within so-called Mainline Churches. This service includes organ and piano music, hymn singing, and is enriched by an enthusiastic choir. This service runs approximately 50 minutes with Holy Communion again being celebrated the first Sunday of each month. The use of media is incorporated into our traditional service as well.
